I've been keeping a journal of things that are inspiring me and wanted to share a few of them here. Maybe one of these will speak to you in some way too.
"Whatever did not fit in with my plan did lie within the plan of God. I have an ever deeper and firmer belief that nothing is merely an accident when seen in the light of God, that my whole life down to the smallest details has been marked out for me in the plan of Divine Providence and has a completely coherent meaning in God's all-seeing eyes. And so I am beginning to rejoice in the light of glory wherein this meaning will be unveiled to me."
- St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein)
"Sometimes the only way the good Lord can get into some hearts is to break them."
- Venerable Fulton Sheen
1 Corinthians 1:4-9
I give thanks to my God always on your account for the grace of God bestowed on you in Christ Jesus, that in him you were enriched in every way, with all discourse and all knowledge, as the testimony to Christ was confirmed among you, so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will keep you firm to the end, irreproachable on the day of our Lord Jesus. God is faithful, and by him you were called to fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
My encouragement this week is the communion antiphon at Mass for a few days this week, "Look toward the Lord and be radiant; let your faces not be abashed." (Ps 34). I finally noticed it this morning, and thought, that is beautiful. Then I thought of Katie B.'s blog.
