| Easter 2012 - my cute boys! |
2) From Lauds today:
Open my lips, Lord,
and my mouth will proclaim your praise;
for you do not delight in sacrifices:
if I offered you a burnt offering, it would not please you.
The true sacrifice is a broken spirit:
a contrite and humble heart, O God, you will not refuse.
3) I feel like I'm getting asked at least twice a week why Lucas is not going to preschool this fall. So far I have been able to reason my way out of it - he is smart, getting plenty of socialization, goes to music class and other activities, we want a flexible schedule for one more year, it costs a lot of money... - but seriously, stop asking. My answers aren't going to change.
4) Prayers this week: In thanksgiving for our aunt's successful open heart surgery, which was very involved and had great risks, and continued prayers for her recovery and overall health. For my cousin as she is married tomorrow, especially for her grandma to be released from the hospital to attend the wedding. For my brother who is on a trip to central America with his MBA program. For all troubled marriages. In thanksgiving for Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. For the conclave and for our next pope!
5) We prayed a whole rosary the morning of the open heart surgery. Lucas and Tyler each had a rosary to hold and some books to look at that had pictures of the mysteries. They moved around the room a bit but overall did pretty well. On the final 53rd Hail Mary, Lucas asked, "Are we gonna be done soon?" Yes, sir. :)
6) Snow pics, because even though it's March, at least we finally have some snow! We've been outside a lot in the past week. Thank you, Lord, for finally sending some white stuff!
7) I'm up pretty early, don't you think? It's 6:30AM, and I'm already finishing up this post. I'm giving that whole getting up before the kids thing a try. We'll see how long I last.
Head on over to Conversion Diary for more Quick Takes, and have a great weekend!
Good morning, Marie! Before I forget...LOVE that ADORABLE picture of your boys last Easter!!
ReplyDeleteI am not sending Flynn to Preschool next fall either. My answer...I would miss her. Period. (Of course, now that I am In my 40's I find it easier to not care as much what others think. This came only with age, friend!)
And I always feel the same about March. It isn't still cozy winter, but it isn't sunny spring, either! At least, Easter is in March this year! : )
I don't LOVE March, but I do get excited because warm weather and sunshine are coming. My favorite month is May. It's always just the right temperature, the sun is shining, and the thunderstorms aren't quite as frequent! I like summer, too, but it just gets so HOT and this summer I think I might be extra hot! :)
ReplyDeleteI totally respect your decision to keep Lucas home another year! I am in awe of mothers who do this! And I WISH I could do it, too! For me, though, it IS a lot about my Lucas's interaction and learning, but I also really need a break. My husband works 60 plus hours a week and the way his schedule is set up, he sees the kids about an hour a day (if we're lucky) and he's super tired during it all. I just can't ever catch a break! I'm with them from the time they wake up (at 6:00) until they go to bed (around 7:30) and I have to do it all. Mike leaves for work at 4:45 in the afternoon. And I'm home at night by myself, too, as he works nights! I'm just so worn out! The few hours he's at school (and Caroline, too) are the only times I have to myself to get anything done (or not)!
I hope you have a great weekend!
I LOVE the rosary story! That is SO cute!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to tell you I made the chicken/rice/broth/veggie recipe you gave me! It was so easy and delicious! With a tiny bit of soy sauce, it almost satisfied my chinese food cravings! :) Even Mike liked it! And Caroline actually ate some of the carrots! Thanks again!
